George Frederick DeBolt (G. Fred DeBolt) was born in Freeland, Mich., and lived in Bay City, Mich., before attending the University of Michigan in 1920. In 1921, DeBolt left the University to study at the Ferris Institute. He then returned to the University of Michigan in September 1921.
